Shakespeare Collaborators 2019
An all volunteer non profit organization investing our time and talent in the York community, Upstart Arts is dedicated to bringing the performing arts to public spaces. We want people to see the classics as accessible entertainment and parks and other public spaces as locations we can gather as a community. Engaging material that makes it easy and exciting to introduce and discuss entrepreneurship and innovation in the classroom. Upstart Challenge Accelerator: Students will attend our fast-paced Upstart-led 2-day workshop to discuss and hone their ideas with local business mentors and develop prototypes for their solutions.
Non-profit arts collaborators participating in the SFSSfestival are:
International Shakespeare Center(ISC) is dedicated to making Santa Fe a world-wide destination for Shakespeare through performance, education, and community.
Upstart Crows of Santa Fe, a youth Shakespeare troupe, ages 10 to 18, performs uncut Shakespeare. The participants also provide all of their own backstage work, managing of props, etc.
Santa Fe Classic Theater presents and promotes the works of classic playwrights, from Sophocles to Shakespeare to Shaw.
New Mexico Actors Lab is dedicated to creating consistently high-quality productions of significant plays that touch the heart and the mind, led by Dr. Robert Benedetti.
Theatre Santa Fe is an umbrella organization that supports and promotes theater in Santa Fe.
Community Starting Well In Your Small Group
SFSS is also collaborating with several independent small groups, such as the Theatre Lovers Club,A Gallery Somewhere,Cadets de Gasconstage-fight club,iReadShakespeare, and the Shakespeare Close Readers.
The Santa Fe Botanical Garden hosts two Shakespeare productions during the 2019 Santa Fe Summer Shakespeare festival:
Romeo & Juliet with Santa Fe Classic Theater, and The Comedy of Errors with the Upstart Crows of Santa Fe.
